Aria da Capo (1990), chamber opera on play by Edna St. Vincent Millay. D.M.A. dissertation, University of Oregon. 40'.


ergo sum (1993), concerto for harpsichord with string orchestra, oboe and percussion. Winner, 1994 Aliénor International Harpsichord Composition Awards. 12'.


Witnesses: A Symphony (1994), for soloists ATB, double chorus and orchestra. Commissioned by Goshen College for its 1994-95 centennial. Texts from the Ausbund, Martyrs Mirror and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 50'.


Wrestling Jacob (1995), for baritone, chorus and orchestra. Fantasy on shape-note hymn tune and Charles Wesley poem of the same title. Commissioned by Eastern Mennonite University and Cincinnati Mennonite Fellowship for 1996 Mennonite Arts Weekend.10'.


Advent Cantata (2000), for soprano, chorus, organ, woodwinds and percussion, on the Magnificat, poems of Madeleine L’Engle and Kathy Clark. Commissioned by Central Congregational Church of the United Church of Christ of Atlanta, with funds from The American Composers Forum and The Rockefeller Brothers Foundation. 15’.


Testament (2005) for band. Commissioned by Newberg High School for opening of new Performing Arts Center. 8’.
